As professional offices become more complex, it becomes critical for offices to employ specialists in the administrative functions. Graduates of this program will be highly organized and well trained in multiple forms of administrative processes that are critical for success in today’s workplace.
The Office Administration Diploma program prepares graduates for work in professional offices. They will be able to be employed by commercial and industrial establishments, government departments, or consulting businesses. Graduates will demonstrate the following:
- Understand and apply best practices for customer service administrative practices.
- Apply proficient and correct typing practices.
- Manage and maintain diverse professional relationships.
- Plan and coordinate schedules and demonstrate effective time management.
- Understand the fundamentals of accounting and evaluate financial performance.
- Communicate professionally in a variety of written and oral mediums.
- Understand and discuss business ethics and corporate social responsibility.
- Understand and apply business law in a Canadian context.
- Utilize appropriate technology and software for day-to-day business applications.
- Plan, implement, and monitor career progress and produce competitive job applications.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or mature student status (19 years or older)
- International students must provide proof of English language proficiency through ONE of the following measures:
Minimum 50% in English 12 or 67% in Communications 12.
Minimum 50% in post-secondary level English or Communications coursework.
- Successful completion of a standardized language proficiency test at or above ONE of the following standards:
- Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 6
- IELTS 5.5 with no band lower than 5
- TOEFL iBT score of 46 Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) score of 162
- Pearson Test of English (PTE-A) score of 45.4
- Versant English Placement Test (VEPT) score of 46
